SMART FY 2024 Support for Adam Walsh Act Implementation Grant Program – OJP is committed to advancing work that promotes civil rights and equity, increases access to justice, supports crime victims and individuals impacted by the justice system, strengthens community safety and protects the public from crime and evolving threats, and builds trust between law enforcement and the community. With this solicitation, the SMART Office seeks to assist jurisdictions with developing and enhancing programs designed to implement SORNA requirements. SORNA requires all states, the District of Columbia, the principal U.S. territories and participating federally recognized Indian Tribes to maintain a sex offender registry; and sex offenders to register and maintain a current registration in each jurisdiction where the individual lives, works or goes to school. Current Closing Date for Applications: May 16, 2024.
