Community-Based Coalition Enhancement Grants To Address Local Drug Crises – The Executive Office of the President, Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP), and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), Center for Substance Abuse Prevention (CSAP) are accepting applications for Fiscal Year (FY) 2018 Community-based Coalition Enhancement Grants to Address Local Drug Crises (CARA Local Drug Crises) Grants. The goal of this program is to prevent and reduce the abuse of opioids or methamphetamines and the abuse of prescription medications among youth ages 12-18 in communities throughout the United States. *For the purposes of this FOA, the term “opioid” is defined as any drug having an addiction-forming or addiction-sustaining liability similar to morphine or being capable of conversion into a drug having such addiction-forming or addiction-sustaining liability. *For the purposes of this FOA, “youth” is defined as individuals 18 years of age and younger.
