The Department of Justice Office on Violence Against Women (OVW) invites Tribal Leaders to join the 2016 Annual Government-to-Government Violence Against Women Tribal Consultation. The purpose of this consultation is to solicit recommendations on enhancing safety for American Indian and Alaska Native women, strengthening the Federal response to the crimes of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, stalking, and sex trafficking, and administering grant funds.
The Department of Justice’s Annual Tribal Consultation On Violence Against Women is now open for registration. We are hosting this year’s consultation on December 6th prior to OVC’s National Indian Nations Conference in Palm Springs. If you haven’t registered for OVW’s annual Tribal Consultation-please visit our registration page.
OVW has a designated room block for guests attending the annual Tribal Consultation at the Renaissance Palm Springs for the dates of Sunday December 4th, Monday December 5th, and Tuesday December 6th ONLY (check-Out required on Wednesday December 7th). We encourage all participants to attend both OVW and OVC events – please check OVC’s National Indian Nations Conference website for updated information on hotel availability for later dates.
