SMART FY 2013 SORNA Tribal Training and Technical Assistance Program – The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Justice Programs (OJP), Office of Sex Offender Sentencing, Monitoring, Apprehending, Registering and Tracking, is seeking applications for the SMART FY 13 Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act (SORNA) Tribal Training and Technical Assistance Program. This program furthers the Department’s mission by assisting federally-recognized Indian tribes with understanding the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act (SORNA) and the critical implementation requirements, and providing guidance and direction on all aspects of SORNA implementation and ongoing SORNA activities. Eligible applicants are limited to nonprofit and/or for-profit organizations (including tribal nonprofit or for-profit organizations), for-profit organizations (for-profit organizations must agree to forgo any profit or management fee), and institutions of higher education (including tribal institutions of higher education). All applications are due by 11:59p.m. Eastern Time on April 11, 2013.
